Side-by-side dealer software comparison

ComplyNet vs Mosaic Compliance Services

Dealer compliance management, training and audit support. Dealership regulatory compliance and training services.

ComplyNet, now operated by KPA, and Mosaic Compliance Services both help dealers with compliance. KPA says it has served the automotive industry since 1986 and offers Vera Suite software, consulting and training.

Mosaic describes itself as a one-stop shop for complete dealership compliance and lists training, deal audits, safeguards and environmental, health and safety among its services. KPA leans on software and a large consulting team, while Mosaic stresses audits and hands-on services.

Direct answer

Choosing between ComplyNet and Mosaic Compliance Services

Start by listing what your store must be able to show: the Safeguards Rule, advertising and pricing law, finance office procedures and workplace safety. Ask each provider which of those it covers, how often it audits deals and whether it reviews your actual contracts and files. Check who your contact is when a regulator calls, how training is tracked by employee and how reports are produced, and what is in the base price and what is billed as extra consulting.

What to check before you choose

A buyer who holds a ComplyNet contract should confirm that it has moved to KPA and which modules carried over. The product name on the old contract may not match what is delivered now.

Start with a list of what the store must be able to show a regulator. It usually includes the written information security program required under the Safeguards Rule, advertising and pricing records, finance office procedures, employee training logs and workplace safety documents. Find out from each provider which items it covers and which it leaves to you.

Ask how deal audits work. Find out how many files are reviewed, who reviews them and how findings are reported to the general manager and the finance director. Find out whether the provider reads actual contracts or only checklists.

Ask who answers the phone when an inspector or an agency calls. A named consultant who knows your store is worth more than a help line.

Finally, ask what is in the base fee and what is billed as extra consulting hours. Request sample reports and the training records of one employee.

Records matter more than reports. When a regulator visits, the store has to produce proof within days, so ask each provider to show a sample file with the audit date, the reviewer and the fix noted.

Training logs should show names, dates and results for every employee, including new hires. Keep a copy yourself.

Put every service you expect to receive into the contract itself. A verbal promise about audits or training hours will not survive a change of account manager.
