TraXtion: product details

TraXtion's history page says it was founded in 2008 as Tire Profiles, LLC, an offshoot of railway diagnostics company ImageMap, whose founder Roger Tracy and engineers began building diagnostic measurement systems for railway infrastructure in the early 1990s. ImageMap systems measure rail track conformity at speeds up to 200 mph and are used on heavy-haul railroads, in China's rail network and on European high-speed lines, and the company also developed optical systems for tire manufacturers to analyze tread depth.

That heritage is the company's own account.

Its home page describes instant tire tread and alignment scans, automated tire identification in motion, AI imaging that captures condition and damage images in seconds to resolve claims, and a wireless design for assessing tread depth. The pitch is to give service advisors data before they greet the customer.

A dealer should ask about the drive-through hardware footprint, how scans are tied to the repair order and what recommendations the system generates automatically. Call two customers.

The company's results panel claims a threefold increase in tire sales opportunities, an 18 percent higher upsell close rate and a 25 percent improvement in customer return visits. Those are TraXtion's own figures, with no study or sample size shown on the page.

The site also lists mobile access through TraXtionMobile and says the system integrates with the dealer's DMS, so a fixed operations director would ask how those numbers were counted, over what period and at how many stores.
