The product is described as connecting dealers to a large volume of daily wholesale inventory across many marketplaces, backed by vAuto's Live Market View of used vehicle values and pricing. It is meant to be used before and during the buying decision, so that a dealer sees what a vehicle is worth in its own market as well as the auction's asking figure.

According to vAuto, Stockwave instantly assesses a dealer's used vehicle inventory needs from its current sales velocity and market conditions, and shows vehicle segments where the store should acquire more units or reduce stock. Through direct integrations with auctions, it shows wholesale vehicles that fit the dealer's portfolio strategy and purchase preferences such as target profit, age, condition and equipment.

A decision support feature called Lightbulbs is described as appraisal-like guidance at the click of a button, showing market data, pricing and demand for a wholesale vehicle so the dealer can decide faster at any dealer auction.

The mobile app, listed on the Apple App Store and Google Play, is described as letting a buyer scan a VIN to see what to bid, view price guides according to the user's subscriptions such as MMR, Kelley Blue Book, Black Book, NADA and Galves, and open vehicle history reports and auction condition reports. Notes on each vehicle, navigation of auction run lists and real-time bid guidance with profit projections are also listed.

It streams wholesale vehicles from more than 300 marketplaces that fit a dealer's stocking strategy and shows auction bid guidance that combines retail and wholesale values with the dealer's own cost estimates and profit target.

A notification feature alerts the dealer when units that match its preferences become available, through email, text and in-app notices. Test the bid guidance against your own last month of auction purchases and compare its profit estimates with what the units brought.
