Side-by-side dealer software comparison

Mia Labs vs Numa

Automotive AI agent for sales and service calls and messaging. Automotive AI communication platform focused on calls and service appointments.

Mia and Numa both sell AI phone agents to car dealerships, so the choice is less about category than about how each one behaves on the calls you get. Mia says it was founded in 2023, answers calls, schedules appointments and handles inbound and outbound conversations across dealership departments, with integrations to the DMS, CRM, lead management and schedulers.

Direct answer

Choosing between Mia Labs and Numa

Numa describes an AI operating system that handles calls, texts and appointments, built by a team that came from Location Labs, and organizes the product around voice AI, a smart inbox, service scheduling and missed-call recovery.

What to check before you choose

Test both on the same week of calls. Ask each vendor to handle your busiest hour, an angry customer, a caller who wants a price and a caller who asks for a specific advisor, then listen to the recordings.

Check how each reads open times from your scheduler and writes the booking into the DMS, what happens when the system cannot answer and how a call is transferred to a person, and where recordings are stored, how callers are told that a recording or an AI is on the line and whether texting is part of the same price. Compare the cost per month, the number of calls included and the contract term.

Each company's own pages show a different emphasis. Mia says it was founded in 2023 by a leadership team with over 300 years of combined automotive retail experience, reports $29 million raised and says it won the first turnkey approval in General Motors' AI and conversational intelligence category for co-op reimbursement.

Its products are reception, sales, service and outbound assistants plus an SMS rescue tool, shown with sample calls. Numa describes an AI operating system with voice AI, a smart inbox, a live CSI feature meant to catch heat cases before the survey, and a service advisor agent that drafts replies.

Numa publishes figures: more than a billion calls and texts handled, an appointment booking rate above 80 percent and 70 percent of heat cases resolved, all its own claims. Its about page credits a team with 150 years of dealership experience and 50 machine learning engineers.

Neither company publishes a price. Ask each to define a booked appointment, to show a week of real call recordings from a store of your brand and to explain how the AI hands a caller to a person.

Short pilots tell more than any claim.
