Can a technician and a detailer share one inspection? Can a service manager reopen a finished inspection and correct it, with a record of the change?

Find out how findings turn into repair order lines. Find out how a declined item is saved so it can be offered again at the next visit.

Then test a full inspection on a vehicle with real problems. Compare what the customer receives with the technician's own notes.

Consider the evidence you are creating. A time-stamped record with photos can protect the store in a warranty dispute or a customer complaint, and it can also expose gaps when a technician skipped an item, so decide how the store will use it, who reviews incomplete inspections and how long records are kept, and make sure the policy is consistent for every vehicle, not only the ones that look risky.

Test what the customer receives. The inspection is only valuable if the customer understands it, so open the customer view on a phone and read it as a customer would, checking that photos load quickly, items are described in plain words, urgency is shown clearly and approval takes one tap. Ask whether the customer can ask a question from the page, and how that reaches the advisor.

Keep a sample of inspections from each technician for a month and review them with the service manager, since uneven photo quality and note detail between technicians is the most common reason customers lose confidence in the results.
