MarketCheck Price

MarketCheck describes MarketCheck Price as a vehicle valuation and pricing product for automotive dealers, captive finance companies, lenders, insurers, online marketplaces and other industry participants who need real-time valuations. It is offered both as an API for software builders and through MarketCheck's own apps and Chrome extension for dealers.

MarketCheck Price: MarketCheck Price

The company says the pricing model uses machine learning, including neural networks, applied to dealer inventories, historical pricing and behavioral data, and that the models are retrained regularly so predictions follow current market conditions. MarketCheck describes its data as aggregated from a large network of dealer listings, which is the basis for the comparables it shows.

Each price can be delivered with build-level equipment data. According to MarketCheck's documentation, the price response can include NeoVIN as-built MSRP with the equipment and features list, along with active comparable listings in the market.

So a dealer sees why a vehicle is priced where it is rather than just a number.

The documentation describes tiers of service: a base tier with price predictions and MSRP data. A premium tier that returns a larger set of comparable listings for deeper market analysis.

A separate page describes a trade-in variant of the pricing API for valuing vehicles a dealer is acquiring.

The pricing report, described on MarketCheck's apps site, shows VIN-decoded specifications, a machine-learning predicted price, active comparable listings in the area and recent sold vehicle data. A Pricing Transparency Report app also appears in MarketCheck's app listing.

A Chrome extension, announced on DealerRefresh, puts market intelligence on the dealer's screen while browsing listings.

Because it is API-first, the product is often used inside another company's software, such as a DMS, an inventory tool or a lender's portal. A dealership may therefore already see MarketCheck data without buying it directly.

It should ask its providers which data sources sit behind the numbers shown.

Questions for a used-car manager: how the predicted price relates to the dealer's own cost and margin rules, how quickly listings are refreshed, how comparable vehicles are selected, and how the tool treats vehicles with limited local comparables. MarketCheck's own pricing page and documentation describe plans and terms.

The category guide for used-vehicle pricing tools lists the same points in scorecard form. Ask for reference calls.
