Dealertrack Analytics
Dealertrack Analytics: Dealertrack, a Cox Automotive brand, describes analytics as part of its DMS and connected dealership software. A Cox Enterprises announcement about an enhanced DMS said it answered dealership demand for data availability, analytics and service support.
Dealertrack Analytics: Compliance and Analytics
Dealertrack's DMS pages list reporting alongside sales, service, parts and accounting.
The company describes Critical Analytics as giving dealers access to the data within the DMS in order to find insights, and business intelligence that shows what is happening in the dealership in real time so it can adjust. Standard dealership reports are provided, plus Cox Automotive's analytics tools.
Integration with other Cox Automotive products is a stated feature. Dealertrack describes cross-platform reporting with vAuto and VinSolutions that follows a customer from lead to close to service, which depends on the store using those products together.
Cox Automotive publishes a market snapshot page about connected data, and Dealertrack has a data and insights section of its resources. Those pages explain the company's view of how data helps dealers.
The DealerInt review of the DMS gives an outside opinion that includes limitations.
Analytics in a DMS depends on the quality of the data entered. So a store would ask how the DMS structures deal and repair order data, how quickly reports refresh, how users are given access by role, how custom reports are built and whether data can be exported to other business intelligence tools.
Group operators would ask how reports roll up across rooftops, how the store compares with its peers and whether the analytics extend to the F&I and registration and titling products in the Dealertrack family.
The category guide for dealership analytics lists a neutral checklist for use with Dealertrack and other providers such as Procede and Omnique. Confirm who owns the data.
Dealertrack's reporting is built into the DMS. Its DMS Critical Analytics offers pre-built dashboards and modules for every department with drill-down and filters, and the company describes customized reports that run automatically and arrive by email to chosen people.
Charts can be built from the store's own data, at store or group level. The reports draw on the DMS and, where used, the CRM and digital retailing modules.
A controller should check which measures are included, how fresh the data is, who can build a report and whether a group's stores can be compared on the same definitions.
