Reynolds and Reynolds Reynolds Certified Interface: Reynolds Certified Interface

Reynolds publishes a program page and a list of third parties that take part.

According to Reynolds, vendors submit their products for testing to meet support, security and compliance requirements. The company says the program provides a standard approach to handling dealership data from a Reynolds DMS in a safe, secure and verifiable way, with the stated aim of improving the security and supportability of interfaces for both dealerships and vendors.

To earn the certification seal, Reynolds says vendors must pass business and technical analysis, interface quality testing and validation and data security checks, and commit to periodic re-testing. Reynolds also describes pre-certified vendors that are working toward completing the requirements.

Announcements show the range of vendors involved. Reynolds and Dealertrack announced certified data interfaces between the Reynolds ERA system and Dealertrack's credit application network and its inventory, eMenu, deal transfer and contracting products.

Reynolds announced certified interfaces between its DMS and the VinSolutions CRM. AutoBase was added as a certified vendor for the POWER DMS, and Agent Entrepreneur reported Dealertrack CRM receiving the certification.

For a dealership on a Reynolds system, the certification list is a practical reference. A store considering a new CRM, menu or reporting tool would check whether the vendor is on the list and what the data connection involves, since the interface determines how data reaches the vendor and how any fees are charged.

For a vendor, the questions are about the process: the timeline for certification, the testing requirements, how often re-testing happens, what data fields are available and what costs apply. Those terms are set by Reynolds and are best confirmed with the company.

The category guide for DMS integration lists a neutral checklist that applies to the Reynolds program and to other routes. Confirm who owns the data.

This is a certification program, not a product a store installs. Reynolds says a vendor must pass business and technical review, interface quality testing, data security checks and periodic re-testing before it may use the Certified Interface seal.

A trade summary counts more than 120 approved partners across CRM, F&I, digital retailing and service, each certified to exchange data with the ERA-IGNITE and POWER systems. The practical question for a dealer is whether a tool it already pays for appears on the current list, what Reynolds charges for the connection and which data fields the certified interface is allowed to read or write.
