Dominion DMS Fixed Ops
Dominion DMS Fixed Ops: Dominion Dealer Solutions describes its DMS fixed operations tools as part of Dominion VUE, the cloud-based dealer management system it announced in 2018. Auto Success, F&I and Showroom and DealerRefresh reported the launch.
Dominion DMS Fixed Ops: Accounting, Fixed Ops and Sales
The company says the system is hosted on the Microsoft Azure cloud.
The fixed operations capabilities listed include service process tracking, electronic multi-point inspection, mobile pay, built-in two-way texting and service menus. Dominion says staff can complete the full repair order write-up, walkaround and closeout on a single tablet.
Dominion describes collaborative repair orders, in which advisors, technicians, parts counter staff and others perform their actions on a repair order in real time without a record lock. The company's service department page says the system integrates with service tools to help scheduling, parts availability and repair order tracking.
For parts, its page says the system integrates with a store's preferred inventory and supplier systems for real-time accuracy and faster fulfillment. The company describes VUE as coming with fixed operations, communications, sales, F&I, accounting, payroll and reporting suites, so fixed ops is one part of a whole-store system.
The Gillrie Institute publishes a page on Dominion VUE and a list of DMS vendors, and FeaturedCustomers carries an outside listing. A DealerRefresh thread discusses the launch.
A fixed operations director evaluating the system would ask how repair orders are handled by role, how the tablet workflow performs in the drive, how manufacturer warranty submissions and scheduling programs are supported, how parts ordering works with the store's manufacturers and how technician time is tracked. Involve the daily users.
Dominion's fixed ops tools run inside its cloud DMS, hosted in Microsoft Azure. The company lists service process tracking, electronic inspections, mobile pay, built-in two-way text and service menus, and says staff can complete a full repair order write-up, walkaround and closeout on one tablet.
Parts functions include inventory tracking, a single-screen workflow for quotes, invoices and special orders and digital fulfillment of parts requests from service. A service and parts director should ask how technician time is tracked, which scheduler is integrated and what changes at conversion for open repair orders.
