SERTI DMS: Dealer management systems (DMS)

It is a Canadian provider that also presents an English-language site for the United States market.

According to SERTI's site, the system is built from integrated applications on a unified database. It covers sales, finance and insurance, fixed operations and customer service, plus accounting and customer relationship management.

So a dealership runs those departments from one record of the customer and the vehicle instead of stitching separate systems together.

For dealer groups, the company lists multi-rooftop management as a capability, aimed at groups that want to standardize on a single DMS. Its sales pages describe automated quotations, reports and analysis, and security settings assigned per user, all meant to let a store follow the complete sales cycle.

Mobile and web access have their own pages. SERTI describes a texting capability that a salesperson can use from the system or from the SDSMobile app on a smartphone.

A web dashboard called StatsOnline that gives real-time figures for management decisions. A sales tablet is described as a way for the sales team to present vehicles to prospects.

SERTI also publishes a page for a module called Dealerwide, and separate pages for the sales, finance and insurance area. Its heavy truck and motorsports positioning means the same platform can be configured for dealerships that sell trucks or powersports units, where inventory, parts and service workflows differ from a passenger-car store.

The company says its about-us page is the place to read its own history. Third-party directories such as VendorMotive and Serchen also list the product.

A partner site, ARS Loaner, carries integration news, which points to connections with outside applications.

A dealership evaluating a DMS records the same things whatever the vendor: which manufacturer interfaces and data feeds are supported in the United States, where the system is hosted, how data is exported if the store leaves, how training and support are delivered across time zones, and how the accounting module handles state sales tax reporting. These are questions for SERTI, since a DMS is the store's system of record and a change is a multi-month project.

SERTI has been in business since 1975 and is headquartered in Montreal. Keyloop announced on February 1, 2022 that it was buying SERTI, its sixth purchase since launching in March 2021.
