Impel
Impel describes itself as an automotive AI platform for customer lifecycle management, presenting what it calls an AI Operating System that connects signals, systems and stages of the customer lifecycle across marketing, sales and service. Impel: product details
Impel, formerly SpinCar, was founded in 2011 and renamed in 2022. It describes an automotive AI platform used by more than 8,000 retailers and manufacturers, and it has grown by buying other tools, including Pulsar AI in 2021 and the customer data company Outsell in 2024.
Its products cover merchandising, virtual walkarounds, AI lead engagement and customer communication. The company has grown by acquisition.
Impel also announced a partnership with SelectFI to give its AI agents financing information. That matters for a dealer because an agent that quotes payments needs rate and incentive data it can defend.
Ask how Impel's agents source financing figures, which of its products require separate contracts and how data from each acquired tool is combined. Agents need clean data.
SpinCar was its old name.
The August 2026 SelectFI announcement adds numbers about how shoppers use Impel's chat agents. Impel says it analysed nearly 50 million conversations across 8,000 dealers and found that financing questions make up almost 15% of requests.
Its answer is a payment estimate returned by term with a confidence level attached, produced after consent capture and a soft credit pull that does not affect the shopper's credit score. The estimates come from a model SelectFI says it trained on real lender decisions, and they are offered through Chat AI, Sales AI and VinVision AI.
Those are company figures from a launch release, not audited results.
